We set up 5th Gospel Retreats in 2006 in solidarity with Palestinian Christians and all who are working for justice and peace in the Holy Land. We show our commitment in three ways: by going out by bringing back and by speaking up.
We sell Altar Wines and Table Wines from Cremisan, the Salesian winery in Bethlehem.
Cremisan's classic wines are produced by their Italian wine-maker Andrea Bonini, guided by probably the most important wine-maker in Italy, Riccardo Cotarella. From pressing to bottling, production in the winery is being modernised all the time but pruning, hand-picking and harvesting the grapes happily relies on traditional human (and equine) skills...
The Salesians of Don Bosco established the vineyards and winery more than 125 years ago to help Palestine people: providing a livelihood for local families and education for the children. The Salesians' original purpose continues unchanged to this day - shining as a beacon of stability and humanity through the tumultuous changes of the last century.
